Expanding the size of your desktop to increase ones work productivity.

Once you have worked with a multi screen setup it is hard to go back to a single monitor pc. Some of you would have seen in an earlier thread here our pics, we have a few multi screen setups on our desktops, and it is great to use each day. These pics were sent to us by a mate so i thought i would share the idea again here as we were talking about different system setups.

These couple of pics are different workstations for rack mount systems and such. But it would be good, if one could buy off the shelf multi screen setups in a desktop or say a multiple monitor laptop. Yes we have been told just get a wide screen, but multiple monitors is a good idea also, but does costs a bit more. Seem to get more done with a multi screen setup. One is not minimize and maximizing all pucking day, lol.

Single or multiple monitors, is there any diff when it comes to your work?

For me, it's multiple monitors all the way, my work machines are all two monitor systems and i find it so much more productive working that way.

When i get home and try and use my single monitor system, it feel weird and even slower than normal.

Forget work tho.... check the bottom of this (http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/news/artwork/th2go/digital.php) page for the real need for multiple monitors

I've used multi monitor setups before and it just didn't do it for me. Dunno call me old school but a 20" works fine for me. :)

Two 20" widescreen monitors with the right monitor on it's side makes a great web developing setup, this is mine at home...

That is a nice looking setup, adrian_w. Better then mine.

Mate here are my 3 desktops in the office, it is set up in a u shape, so to sit in the one place and turn left or right to get at 1 or 2 or the third. Just have to get one day a proper u shape table. The main one is in the middle pic.

Bluey I have to ask... why do you have, use, need 3 desktops with 7 monitors?

why do you have
Because i could not be fucked going from minimize and maximizing all day.

use
Each machine has its own use, and only is used for that.

need 3 desktops with 7 monitors?
Because of where we live, if one shits itself we cannot always get parts the same day and may have to wait days to get a machine going again. As in from dec to march or our wet season, power goes out fucks a modem or a desktop. Shit happens and has happened. Our gear is old compared to some other members here.

What system setup do you have MrEMan? Could you share with us a pic or pics.
